UKATA Non - Licensable Asbestos Training
Our UKATA registered Non Licensable Asbestos Awareness and removal courses are for those candidates who will be knowingly be working with asbestos containing materials.
If you are looking to carryout any work, which involves working with asbestos then you will need the appropriate training. Working with asbestos has its dangers and given the life threatening health effects, the correct training, procedures, knowledge and understanding is not just vital, its critical.
There are two types of asbestos removal, Non licensed asbestos removal and Licensed asbestos removal. Certain products that contain asbestos can only be removed by companies who have been licensed by the Health and Safety Inspectorate at DEFA.
If you want to work with asbestos you need to be competent.
Paragraph 40 of the approved code of practice that supports the islands Control of asbestos (Application) Order 20022 clearly defines competence as follows:-
Competence
Any reference in this document to competence, competent persons or competent employees is a reference to a person or employee who has received adequate information, instruction and training for the task being done and can demonstrate an adequate and up-to-date understanding of the work, required control measures and appropriate law. They must also have enough experience to apply this knowledge effectively.

Our training is tailored to suit all levels of people, and with our interacting and delivery techniques, are both enjoyable and informative.
Regulation 10, para; 128 of the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) that supports The Control of Asbestos. Regulations 2012, clearly details the contents of the asbestos awareness course and states that the training is for those persons whose work will knowingly disturb ACMs, such as maintenance workers and their supervisors; and those who carry out asbestos sampling and analysis. It should be given in addition to the asbestos awareness training outlined in paragraph 127.
The course objectives are as detailed in the supporting Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L143; ‘Work with materials containing asbestos’ and HSG 210; ‘ Asbestos Essentials’, A task manual for building, maintenance and allied trades on non-licensed asbestos work.
